Default Anyone planning on using 3/8 water line for super 61.

I ran into a problem with the 3/8 NPT connector going around the temp sensor inside the piece of pipe used for the temp sensor. I was worried this would cause some serious flow problems. I'm not sure what paulyy did but I had to cut several threads off of the male connector so the water would flow freely into the pipe and around the temp sensor and out. Thought I would share just in case anyone was looking at doing the same thing. I have attached a drawing and I'm not an artist at all..haha.

Okay now i understand your PM.
I'll reply here.

Mine didn't thread all the way in, because the thread is tapered i put teflon tape on it and went as far as it could, it has enough room for flow.

I'm getting rid of that because i had to modify the branches to clear the turbo's 4" intake with silicone hose and it slightly leaks, so next few weeks i'll have something custom there which i'll post up.

Thanks for the response. I figured you would see it. Mine is also tapered but I just feel it was going in way to far.

If you're still scared, drill the hole in the fitting out so theres more flow.

Default Turbo Water in from pump

I have another question about the turbo in. I was going to move the turbo water pump up on the bracket so I could get the water line hooked up. I used a 90 degree barb off the turbo and if I leave the pump in the original space the hose will kink. I think if I move it up it would work. Le me know what you guys think. My other thought would be if the hose got hot it might bend easier. I also thought about leaving the pump in the normal location and running a longer hose around the turbo and into the strait barb fitting that came with the turbo..looked like it might kink...not sure what I should do. Thanks in advance! The help I'm getting from you guys is making this build

I guess I could just say Hopefully this will work..what do you guys think? I put a 90 degree bend in the hose for the turbo water line. Not sure why I didn't think about it before.

I have several question on some other stuff. I have been looking at the diagrams off LR and I just want to ask where some of these Vac lines go.

edit..here are some pics. I think the line off of the brake booster goes to the AC inside the battery compartment. I could just hook up the lines to where they where before...but I just want to make sure. Any info could help.

Thanks

Do I have to 'prep' the turbo in any way before starting the car? I would think pouring some oil in the oil inlet wouldn't be such a bad idea. When everything is good to go I was going to pull the plugs and crank it over for about 2 minutes before I fire it up. What do you guys think?

pull the DME relay.

crank the engine over for 30seconds (in 2 15 second increments to give the starter a break)

Should i pull the DME relay while the plugs are out? Should I dump some oil in the turbo before I put the intake manifold on?

Thanks.

Im going to leave my plugs in. This way the pistons aren't screaming in the cylinders before oil is able to circulate. You pull the DME relay so fuel is not pouring in the cylinders. I oiled my turbo a bit before i put it on but i don't think you need to. Oil should get to it pretty quick when cranking it over.

Alright so I'm almost done with this project and I need to bleed the coolant. Clarks garage says to crack the vent at the front of the engine. Could someone point me in the right direction of this bolt? Or a pic?

Thanks!
