Default Difference b/w Mahle and Mann Oil Filters

I had to change the oil on the car and I notice this. I wonder if there is any real difference. Mahle is on the left and Mann on the right. I went from Mahle to Mann. The reason why i did that is because my local auto part store now carries them and i need to get filters for a S4 and A4. Mahle# OC142 Mann#W 719/22. I had instant oil pressure. 20/50 oil

IMO I wouldn't be using the 4 holer. Looks to be restrictive.

I have nothing very helpful to add, other than to say I always order extra Porsche oil filters from Sunset whenever I place an order there.

Yes it does. Same size too.

I also checked with the website to make sure the number was correct and it was.

Let us know your feed back as it would be nice to have more than one brand to choose from.

Mahle manufacturers Porsche OEM filters in Austria.Same filter is Mahle OC75.
Porsche branded filters are also manufactured in the USA by Champion Laboratories Inc.

(picture borrowed from Porsche forum UK)

Same filter can be bought as Champ LS 154.

If you want to have more cleaning/oil capacity use 993 primary filter:

Mann/Knecht W7303
Mahle OC213

Does the OC213 really fit ?

IIRC, with the OC75 which is taller than the old OC142 but looks smaller than the OC213, there's not a lot of room to install or to remove it.
