Default 996 GT3 6 piston 14" brakes fit under 17" Cup 2 wheel

For all those that wondered... there are some 17" wheels that will clear the big 993 GT3 brakes (the MK2 or later 6 piston 14" setup).

Here's a photo of the wheel just put on...

Clears by almost 1/4" all around.

Well now with those brakes, the ABS, you need to get some sticky slicks on that car. Then those 996 Cups are going to have their work cut out for them!

Great news Tony. 6-pots are a tight fit even with some 18" wheels. Son's project 951 have OZ Racing Mito 3-piece 18" wheels and with them 6-pots cannot be used.

Olli, that seems surprising on an 18" wheel. So long as the disk is 350mm you'd think they'd fit?

In our case the problem is a 3-piece wheel design. Bolts which hold wheel pieces together hit the caliper.

Wheel spokes even clear the calipers?

I have to use a 7mm spacer in the front to clear 996 tt calipers with the stock front 7" Cup 2, 9" will fit on front without spacers

What rotors did you use Tony? Great news as I basically have the same wheels as you...

I have a 1/4" spacer, but I'm fairly sure they would clear w/o the spacer. It would be close.

I have to use the spacer to get the wheel to clear the strut.
