Porsche Parade '12 - SLC, UT GTG at my place!

SLC eh? Great location--great town. I gotta think with Tooele just up the road there'll be something at Miller.
In Salt Lake, do they still have the funny rules about alcoholic drinks, like you have to be a member of a 'club' to get served, or, like you have to get food or something? I seem to remember that from going out with local business associates when traveling there for work... If so, perhaps a local lister (or two) could put s/t together for those who share a love not only of Porsches but also of the beverages that we know were so instrumental in their creation?
Just a thought.
I'll try to make it, I still travel to SLC regularly for work.

I live in Tooele!
There are no more "memberships" but you have to order a drink with food at restaurants. Not so in bars, thank goodness! And there are some really good bars in SLC.

I was planning on it until I heard there wasn't going to be a track event at Miller as part of the parade. I'm just not into the other stuff at all, I could care less about concours, rally or an auto-x. If I'm driving out there, I want to run Miller, either outer loop or full course for at least 3 days.

I've spent more time in that city than I care to admit. It is very clean, white, and safe. The mountain scenery is also very pretty. It's also hot in the summers. But that's about it. If you plan to do anything outside of the pre-planned Parade activities... well.. I know I'd be bored to tears. Especially on a Sunday.
As for Miller... I'm sure someone (either the local PCA chapter or some other club) will host an event there on the first or last weekend. When Parade came to Chicago 2 years ago, the Chicago Region hosted an event that was open to Parade attendees. Not an official Parade event but there were a lot of Parade folks that attended.

That was basically what I was thinking when I got Utah as a territory to cover as a sales rep. However, my opinion changed the first time I visited my dealers there. The downtown area is feels urban, but is at a very human, navigable scale, and still employs quaint streetcars. It's clean, and there's some good architecture, from the traditional churches and older buildings to the new Delta Center open air mall. But that could be one of many small cities in the States.
What set SLC apart to me were two things, 1) the proximity to the mountains--they are very close to downtown, and provide a dramatic skyline view. So physically, it's a beautiful city. And 2) its inhabitants are also remarkable. I'm not sure how much is a byproduct of the concentration of Mormons (LDS) there, but the people are incredibly friendly and seemed to me very genuine. I also found them to posess an excellent balance of work ethic on one hand, and patience, and a laid back attitude on the other.
If I were relocating again, SLC would be on my short list.

Now that everyone has expressed their opinions about the location, let's keep it on the subject of who will be attending. I ask because I wouldn't mind hosting a small
