I understand that, but your question asks if it HAS it currently. It's easy enough to drop ABS if you don't want it/can't utilize it, but it's much harder (read: expensive) to add it if you don't have already.

If you really want to use those wheels you could do it by switching to the 86 rear hubs. Then you get you 1” less back spacing. Its not that big a deal to do – plus you would have new rear wheel bearings!

BTW – my 968 turbo cab should be on the road this spring….
I think the flares would make the cab look really mean.

Is your cab going to be 16 valve or 8 valve.
I'd love to turn the S2 motor into a turbo. Send me a quote.

The simplest thing is to replace the rear wheels with a set of the aftermarket Turbo II solid spoke 18X10et65 and have them color matched to your current set. The Porsche wheels number 996.362.140.04 in that size can be quite difficult to come by.
No bearing hubbub, ABS mess or flares required… the flares would at least be unique and can only imagine would look tough.

The fronts don't fit either. I wonder if the ones you mentioned would fit front and rear.

Two common remedies for the front wheels are either a 5mm spacer with more –camber if required, or have the wheels machined to fit over the bearing caps.
The 10x18et65 wheels will not fit up front under stock fenders.

why would these fit a coupe and not a convertible? I didn't know there was a difference?

My coupe was an 86 with early offset and the cab is a 90 with late offset. The hubs stick out farther on late offset cars.

The reason that 87 and later cars had the higher offset was because of the ABS reluctors on the hubs if the car was ABS equipped. So rather than having ABS cars with one offset and non-ABS cars with another offset, Porsche just made them all the same (ABS) offset for simplicity.

Now whether or not it's possible to fit ABS reluctor-equipped late offset spindles on early control arms, I don't know, but I'm sure someone has tried... and will chime in.

That is the big question. Anyone tried it or know why it wouldn't work?

If you're going to get into bodywork like that, is there any way you could ditch the cab roof and make a panel to cover the spot it sat in, or at least cover the roof somehow?

944 cabs have great lines but the folded up roof is just ugly, no nice way to say it.

944 cabs have great lines but the folded up roof is just ugly, no nice way to say it.
Although, I live in Arizona, a roof is needed. I don't leave it unlocked unless it is in my garage.
I take my boys a lot of places in the back seat so a cover over the back seats is a non-starter.
My car came with a cover for the top when it is down. Don't think it looks that bad with the cover in place.
