Inspired!
I was just told by a dear friend that somene else's "home shop" puts mine to shame. Rather than be insulted it inspired me to upgrade. Last year I had a buddy draw up plans for a 25' x 50' workshop but I've been lazy in saving funds to pay for it (not a big fan of 2nd mortgages and I want to build a pool first). After this conversation I finally figured it out. Effective five minutes ago, Porsche/Corvette/Performance work is now $45 an hour. General automotive work is $55 per hour. I will trade services with a GC if available. I'm still much faster than book time and 1/2 the price so demand won't be an issue.
I plan on breaking ground next Summer. I'll start a build thread.

I don't even know how to respond to this so I'll have to try three posts and you guys can vote on which one I should keep.

I can't believe someone said that to you. What a social retard. Did you at least tell the friend that he was a tool(no pun intended)?
I wonder how some people get through life. Calling him a dear friend is pretty generous on your part. I hope he would at least be embarrassed if his social ineptitude was pointed out.

Sounds like it's time to stop making excuses and get a real shop put together. Another shop "puts yours to shame". What have you got, a playschool toolset and a "Bob the Builder" workbench?
Get your priorities straight. A pool before the shop? What, are you going to lay out in your thong and read romance novels while real men are working?
Man up, tell your wife that you are taking your ***** out of her purse and putting them back in your sack, and building a proper man dwelling like you should have done before your friend called you on your failings. Good thing he is around to help keep you on track.

Ok, so I'm the tactless idiot who doesn't know how to choose his words.
"Put to shame" was over the top. What can I say, I see a lift in the middle of a garage and I go a little nuts.
I didn't mean to insult you or your garage. Yours does put mine to shame so I've got nothing to say.
BTW, I showed this thread to Monica and she says I am not very nice. She used stronger language than that to get her point across.
I guess I need to start saving up. Putting the turbo motor in the cab is going to set me back a bunch of coin.
Since I am going to be a major contributor to the shop building fund, do I at least get it named in my honor?

Ohhhhh Nooooo...
It Was you!
I can say without a doubt that Jeremy and I have put together some very sweet cars with half of a garage, a 30 pack, and a bowling bag full of miscellaneous tools. I'm still hanging to two of those cars, and they will walk on many of the cars in this town, yet still get me to work and back every day.
Yet, my mancave could definitely use a visit from "House Crashers"!
