Post (COME ON!)What non KKK turbo do you have?

Hey Guys, Mike Danger Here;
Looking for feedback on different turbos, On 2.5 liters only please.
Seems a few of you have the 60-1 hifi how do you like it? wish you would have gone bigger or smaller?

Who else has what and what would you have done differently?

Dont forget to mention what turbine/housing/trim you have.

Oh and if any of you have had the chance to compare to other turbochargers then you have now or othere modded 951s.

Deciding on the best go fast "boost pipe" for me.
Thanks
Mike

I've got a kokeln street, seems more suited to a 2.5 than my 2.8, if you'd like to upgrade i'll gladly consider selling it rather cheap (PM / email me). sorry if that doesn't answer your question, just my $.02

Garret T04E hybrid from TEC. 46 trim compressor wheel and turbine housing that has a 2cm bigger outlet than my old #6 KKK has. 12 psi at around 3200 rpm and as much as I want at 4000. Dyno'ed at 300 rwhp @15-16 psi with no wideband tuning. Way too fat above 5000 rpm.

Technodyne BB turbo makes 400WHP/420ft lbs. with race gas and 365WHP on pump gas. The new turbo required a step up to 550cc injectors from the stock injectors that I used with the K27#8 (320-330WHP). It was fab'd by Technodyneracing.com
The have a couple of articles of their website regarding the "big turbo kit" along with a article on my car.

60-1HiFi/Garrett .70 a/r - stage 5 trim on a 2.5 liter turbo engine.

No power below 3000rpms.

388HP RWHP, SAE Corrected on the DynoJet 248C at 1 bar boost @ 6650rpms, so far.

A 60-1HiFi is a LOT of compressor and will support 400HP at the wheels for sure.

Hey Tony, Why didnt you choose the regular 60-1? or even the 62-1?

I looking at the same hot side .70, but what trim do you have O,P, or Q?

one of the other turbos im considering is the t-s04.

Do you have the ball bearing option? im definately going to go with that.

What Garret GT turbos would be comprable to these?

ALso as a reference, what turbine/housing would be comprable to the KKK #6 and #8 of our stock turbos?

hifi flows 95% of the standard, the standard has a 4" inlet, big. Same wheel. 60-1 flows plenty, I think 62-1 is relly pushing it on a 2.5ltr.

I would imagine the 4" inlet reduces 'lagg' not boost threshold but the time between vacc and pos pressure above where the threshold would take place.

Ok, Turbo experts, Maybe you can help me decipher what NON K26 I a running.

Had a new J boot put on and mech was checking it and ealized that the inlet was 2.75, not the stock 2.25 of the K-26. The housing appears to be same size as K26 and exhaust side has KKK stamp, but no stamp on compressor side. Mech also said the compresor wheel looked larger than stock and had different fin design. Fin design has small fin in between each large fin, however a friend wih a 951 said his stock K 26 had that design also. Once the new J boot was properly fit to match, spool up is now much louder and has more lag. Full boost at about 3,600 rpm, with reliboost controller.

SO, WHAT DO I HAVE????

I'm not sure what you mean about the "cast KKK #8".

The turbo on the left is my old turbo. It was a KKK "replica" hotside of the KKK, but made, obviously, by Turbonetics.

The current turbo is on the right, and uses a full Garrett hotside. And yes, the exhaust is V Banded on.
