Well he's saying 500bhp at 1 bar. Unlikely. Still, it's possibly a good engine...

The car is more drive able at 15 psi on reg. gas and is probably around 330-350 there. I would be highly surprised if you need more power that this setup will provide. I drive this car daily when in CA. Save your money and give this a try. I wasted over $40K on the other FL 951 and this one will smoke it!
"FL car'89 951 Too many upgrades to list: LR race prepped crank, Pauter Rods, JE custom TC pistons, LR Stage V ported/polished head, Web Cam, LR valves and springs, Solid lifter, Wolf 3-D, LR intake, custom Five-O 1070 CC injectors, MSD DIS-4 HO, Hyabusa COP, Stage II IC, LR Super 65 Garrett BB turbo TC & polished, 4" turbo back thermally coated exhaust, T/C headers, LR two piece crossover, Tial BOV, LR dual port Wastegate, Escort Cup Coilover suspension, Innovate XD-16, much more!"

Smoke it, why? Tyre smoke? The FL one in your spec should spank your CA one judging by all the LR and other mods you've got on it. Why not?

It has been there nearly two years now and still not ready. After finished expected output is only 350 and won't run on E-85. So yes, your right should be about the same running on gas, but I have the option to run E-85 on my simple CA car. Just trying to emphasize how easy it is to have a really fast car without spending a lot of money and also trying to show how not to waste a lot of money like I did.

This is exactly what I've been preaching for years. I know my car is fast, I've proven it on many levels even with crappy clutches. I for one can't see a justification for a 3.0 for a fast street car. I would really like to compare my new setup to a well sorted 3.0. Maybe I'll drive it to our next bike race in Utah and meet up with Darwin, I think that'd be fun!! I'm not taking anything away from any of the big engine builds as I'll be building a stroker myself, but I'll be after WELL over 400hp.

Did you ever figure out a clutch that would hold 30psi, at the track? ^

We shall find out soon enough. I hope I don't need to run that kind of pressure with the new engine. But tq is tq regardless so I'm hoping this will hold the desired 550 lb ft.

Darwin, just funnin really, but I'd love to see how they compare. I'm thinking that the race is in July. Im pretty sure I'll have my 16v setup in by then, if not the stroker short block. That takes away the "easy 2.5" out of the equation, it will still be fun.

In regards to how you built your car... That is how it should be done by everyone honestly. :-). I'm sure you know full well I certainly build mine to my tastes and budgets. That is the fun of it all...

OOOOOooohhhhhh!

I didn't realize the new engine would be done so soon! I thought it was a "back burner" thing.

Without fun, what would there be? If you are ever in the area, let me know! Even if you don't have your car, you can take mine for a spin. Wouldn't mind your opinion!

July 8-14, I know of a couple of "easy 2.5" cars that should be in that area as well...

Would be interested to see how an "easy 2.5", a stroker 2.7-8, and a moddedeverything951S all stack up against one another... in simulation of course!

And of course all in good fun!

I just looked at the 2012 bmx schedule and the Utah race is end of june to July 1st. This might work put great as I could possibly make it happen. What is going on that so many will be around?
