who has a sleeved engine?
#2
Hi, I am in the process of building two (soon to be three) turbo motors that have been sleeved and now use JE pistons.
If I understand your question correctly, they will last longer than the alusil cylinders. One motor had less than 100k on it and the cylinders were marginal at best, so the block was sleeved. We also give it a slightly larger bore which opens us to a larger selection of ring packages to choose from. Reliability will not be an issue if you use a good machine shop to do the sleeving.

some guys say that sleeved engine ALWAYS have problems. we just sleeved one and I worry now if it will last and for how long. it is a 3 L engine and we put a lot of mone yin it. so it MUST last for at least 100k
