Rich,
I cannot access anything on this site. Get "Connection refused: Port 80." Do you have to be Canadian???!!! ;-)
In any case, can you send me the particulars on the 1990 951? Or tell me how I can get on this site?
Thanks.

Here you can see the actual amount of cars running in good old Germany:
<a href="http://members.fortunecity.de/magnus6/zulassungszahlen.html" target="_blank">http://members.fortunecity.de/magnus6/zulassungszahlen.html</a>
E.g. 193 944turbo cabrio as per 01.01.2003
Very astonishing, there are only 100 924 turbo II left.....

The "death" rate is alarmingly high. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

I assume, the "924/944/968 IG", that did this page, got the figures from the "Kraftfahrzeug Bundes Amt (KBA)". This is the official office for registration and so on.
Yes, the death rate is alarming. Especially for "ordinary" 924 and 944.
Anyhow, the 944 turbo II is not that rarer than the 944 turbo I

Or does the split happen with the 88 turbo S/88 turbo??

i recall reading somewhere that the 951 was not imported to the usa due to a drop in sales to one of the flagship models the 930 turbo. Due to the bang for the buck the 951 had a very close performance sheet to the 930 the sale of these cars were more economical to porsche in usa than the 951.As I recall without the sales in the USA (california)the 930 would have been a disaster.Co7uld be wrong but do recall an article somewhere

I refer to the figures (shown in my link posted above) that show registerred cars in Germany (only !).
Code nr. 400 is turbo I with 220 hp, code nr. 412 is turbo II with 250 hp

The info I have had for many years in the FAQ is the 144, see:
http://www.connactivity.com/~kgross/FAQ/944faq03.html
I don't remember where the figures came from originally. Maybe Bruce Anderson.

I have one and would expect that it would have a bit of a premium over an 89 in the same condition but condition would still be a major factor. I just had the opportunity to buy a very good condition 1990 and knew it was quite unique so why not? Besides, I really like the look of the tail much better than the previous years.
