Default Cam house Anodizing?

Hi i was wondering if anyone here has anodized their intake manifold or the cam housing . My question is more or less if the aluminium used in our engines are appropriate for anodizing . Any ideas thinking about sending it off next week.

Cast aluminum parts could not be anodized. There are a few cast alloy types which could be anodized but usually these are not used in car parts.

Most anodizing labs would not even try because they know it wouldn't work.

I've seen a few camshaft boxes that have been polished, and look very nice, but the usual does seem to be powder coating, often along with the oil pan.

I thought about polishing my cam tower, but I didn't like how the relief areas around the letters would look since it would be nearly impossible to polish that. Adding some enamel paint there might help...

With a bit more effort you could get it 100% polished around the letters and all. it would require more time though

Lart - If you keep polishing your cam you will go blind.....and I think you can only sell that service in LasVegas without getting arrested!
