About the VIS thing...I used to be into the "ricer" crowd and I didn't hear very good things about them...but that was way back, maybe they got their act together. I remember their website used to have all these photoshopped cars, like their body kits were just photoshopped in and very obvious. Now it seems alot nicer...but yeah just wanted to let you guys know back then they were a really shady company, not sure about now. And I believe they were carbonfiber wrapped hoods not full carbonfiber hoods. Just make sure they are full CF or else you won't get too much weight savings. But I have heard Fiberimages was really good.

What is the projected weight? What are some weights of the hoods they already make?

400 is really enticing and I'm in if the quality of fit and finish are good, and the weight is around 7-10 lbs. (I know, I know!! I want it all...my girlfriend constantly reminds me!)

For 400 I'm in, but again do you think we could get a vent built in there?

I have a 924 hood on my 951, and if we could make a mold of it (it has the vent over the headers...)

but really i'm hoping for the vent somewhere in the middle of the hood to get the hot air out....

I'm in for $400. I would desire a vent too. A setup like the 968TRS would be nice, but i'm not picky.

I wouldn't imagine they would have trouble popping in naca vents wherever you want them.

Everyone whom I've talked to about their latest stuff is praising it. Many say that a lot of people are prefering VIS over Fiber Images lately. I've seen their recent stuff and have been impressed.

p0wp0w, I noticed Houston. You happen to know dxlst and those fellas?

I hope I'm not coming off as advertising these VIS guys too much. They are offering a good price, their stuff looks good, and they actually are willing to do it, so I'm just presenting the option.

Anyway, I think an OEM replica (plain) is the best bet if we have any hope of getting the committed quantities. After that, we can see what'd they'd do about alterations to the plain hood.

But, 1st things 1st. Let's see how many are acutally interested. Who else is in?

A $400 7-10 lb hood sounds good. Should find a lot of homes on track cars.

Wouldn't hurt nearly as bad when the 25 cent hood support slips and the hood lands on your head

megatron,
Right now I don't have a 951 so I've been out of it lately so nope, don't know em, but hopefully if everything works out I should have one by the end of March. If you want, can you gimme some of the Houstoners' usernames? maybe I'll go check em out one day when I have a 951
