Hi i was browsing at ebay.de today and came across This
Google translate:
Engine block for Porsche 944 turbo closed deck reinforced!
The engine block is made of a perfect engine. For tuning purposes the deck reinforcement was used, so that now an extremely stable closed-deck block for tuning emerged with high boost pressures.
Thus stability problems when tuning from scratch are solved, because otherwise the free-standing cylinders are now firmly anchored in the entire block.
Also prevents certain that cylinder bores can be oval, because each cylinder through the top plate is held in the form of addition.
The new Zylindermaß is drilled and honed to 100.5 mm, ie First Oversize.
If required, matching pistons to be procured.
Optional at extra cost, a larger amount to be drilled and honed.
The offer applies only to the block, similar to the photo.
The crankshaft in the visible image can also be purchased at an additional cost.
When required, also a newly constructed cylinder head is available.
I also came across a old thread here on rennlist THREAD were there is a discussion about closed deck sleeves etc. I have never had problems with my engine and stock pistons/internals and allot of boost +E85 but it is clear that my engine is worn more then what was predefined . I am considering another block just for the heck of it and why not go this route ?

i wonder if they figure that will help #4 stay cooler by not diverting coolant to the head just yet, so the coolant has to go all the way back, up and forward to the gooseneck?
i would imagine fitted, welded and decked block

Coolant goes through the front of the block to all cylinders. There isn't anything blocked off, you guys are confused. The holes by number 4 cylinder are similar to a headgasket. And no, this is not welded in. For the most part, those are all press fit. And they're dangerous if the correct material and/or install is not done. There is a lot more going on to do one correctly then meets the eye. If not done correctly, you'll be popping headgaskets or worse. Unless you know the company, know they've had success with these before, I would steer clear.

So basically buying a sleeved and decked block from a company you dont know is a no go. I read there has been some HG failures on some off the 3ltr builds on this forum wouldent the closed deck help ? Anyways seems i only have one choice left if i want a upgraded "sleeved" block. And that would be from usa .
