Post Couple of questions...

Okay...I'm in the process of putting back my intake manifold and installing a Greddy Type S BOV.

First, where does this connect? I know where its connect to towards the rear of the engine, but I can't remember for the life of me where I connect it to towards the front?

Secondly, where does this tube go to? There are 3 nipples on the intake pipe here, 2 of the 3 are connected...but, again, I can't remember where this one goes.

Lastly...the BOV. I know what the top nipple is connected to...what about the two on the side? The instructions are in Japanese, and unfortunately, my abilities to read Japanese are reather limited. So, do they connect anywhere or not?

Thank ya...

IAC hose? What is that?

Cycling valve? Mine is gone, replaced by an AVC-R...so, I'm assuming that nipple connect to the AVC-R, no?

I can tell you how to connect it on an MR2 Turbo...but not a 951. It is a direct bolt-on on the MR2, there is a kit for it. I've never installed one on a 951.

Since I own a 951, and not an MR2, that is why I am asking how to install it...

Kierf -

Perhaps the easiest way to help is to describe all 3 connections on that boot.

1) Connection on the right hand side (from the front of the car) goes to the charcol cannister emissions system.

2) Larger hose goes to the oil/air seperater, via the larger metal tube.

3) The smaller nipple USED to feed the Cycling Valve. If you're not using it, block this one off.

HTH!

Yeah, and if you install it in the southern hemisphere, make sure you mount it upside-down because it would swirl in the opposite direction when it dumps.

Jesus Christ...I didn't post here to be mocked at. I'm not the most mechanically inclined person...I just want some help with my car. I just want to know if the two nipples on the side of the BOV are used. The instructions are of no help.

Toolmaster, that was of help, thank you.

Here's how the Greddy valve is installed:

You need to weld on a flange to your intercooler outlet pipe to accept the valve. You cannot just hook up the round outlet to the round port on the intercooler pipe thinking an open valve should be able to flow either way. It uses boost-pressure to keep itself shut when installed in the correct orientation, and if reversed, it WILL leak all your boost out. (remember that guy that wanted to remove his wastegate and use the BOV to regulate boost?heh, heh..)

Then you hook up the hoses like this:

The best quote I've seen about BOVs (almost as good as the one about using the BOV to regulate boost!). From the Greddy website:
[quote]Can a blow off valve work on a non-turbo car?
Blow off valves would not do anything on a normally aspirated vehicle (non-turbo or non-supercharged vehicle). The purpose of a blow off valve is to release the built up boost pressure in the charge piping, when the throttle plate is closed and the car is under boost. So if you do not have a turbo or supercharger there will be no pressure to be released and nothing will happen.
