How much bigger I wonder? If not too bad I could port match them. Eventually, I'll end up with a 3.0 anyway.

Going by the 968 gasket, the cross section is about 20.2cm^2.

Have all the parts. I'm still debating on whether or not to maximize my current 8v setup further before making the change to the 16 v.

I've had a rough go lately , and I'm not sure how much time I can put into the car anytime soon. I'm sure I will get to it eventually though.

I will be there to help with this if you decide to go that route. I am going to lean on you here in a month or two for some machining advice,,, just FYI

For information on CR, here the info i have :

stock CR 944 10.9 => head is +/- 41 cc Head gasket is +/-7cc and this give a piston cc at +/- 14 cc
So with a 951 piston with 20 cc => 9.9 and with 25cc => 9.4 ....

I'm going to see if it's possible to machined and stock 951 piston to 30 cc (hemispherical bowl) to reach someting like 9, any info on tickness ?

In other hand, I plan to use a 944 head (plug n' play on 2.5L block) and a 968 intake I have, have you information about compatibility and work to do to match them ?

Chris white had a set up pistons for a good price.

The intake will work you just need to do some port matching.

Depending on your power goals would dictate which direction I'd go. There is much more useable power with a longer stroke IMO. Unless you want over 400rwhp I wouldn't do the head swap, or if you just want to have fun doing it.

Sid, you know I ended up selling the whole 968 3.0 for $2200!? No one wanted it when I was selling it. I wish I still had it for you.

Bruce, heck I probably wouldn't hav been able to buy it anyway. I'll build a big engine eventually. The thing is though, I'm not even sure I need to. I havnt stressed this one much and at some point you just have to call it "good enough". That point for me is only 6mph away. Traction and a little more boost...= parachute.... Umm not again!!
