Default My car is almost ready

Went to my mechanic and saw my car. He has been at Road Atlanta all week for Petit Leman. The only issue we are waiting on is for him to figure out why the wastegate isn't holding the minimum boost amount of 8 or 9 psi. I spoke to Dave Lindsey since its their 3 liter engine and wastegate, chips, maf, etc. and he said to check the banjo bolt since the car originally had the authority chip and I know they require a jetted banjo bolt. My mechanic said my car isn't using that set up.

Any other suggestions?

Here is a picture of my completed engine.

blocked or pinched vacuum line? Lines to the WG hooked up incorrectly? What method of control are you using? MBC or EBC?

Apexi AVCR EBC. Supposedly all lines and connections are good. Mechanic seems to think its the spring in the wastegate. Sound possible? Its a new LR DP WG.

When I had my DP WG and MBC installed in my car years ago, my mechanic hooked up the vacuum lines incorrectly and I was getting 21+ PSI of boost. That sure was fun, and I didn't really understand the potential damage that could be done... I drove it that way for a day or two, then brought it back so he could hook up the lines correctly after checking the LR vacuum diagrams.

Is it giving you unlimited boost? Or does it cap off at around 12 - 14 psi?

You have a .8 bar spring.

.8 of 14.7 is 11.76. You have a .8 bar spring in your WG, and no problems.

Call Lindsey. I see on their website that it says you can adjust it down to 9. If that is the case you have a blockage somewhere, or your EBC is not working correctly.

I going to bet that it's not the wastegate it has to be something with the setup. Vac lines or Apexi.

The chances of something being wrong with the wastegate I just don't see it.

I have the same setup minus the apexi.

good luck with things,

Jason
