Sid- What do you think your 0-60 times are? Did you ever time yourself?

Ok. I am courious.. How Does the MDS give you pre boost by having 2 rpm's?
And yes I did a search...

it basically lowers the rev limiter and bounces up the boost. There are actually more than a few ways to load the turbo at a stand still.

Yes I have ran some corners lol. I drive up deer creek canyon at wot in 3rd gear regularly (speed limit is 20mph)

The two step builds boost by allowing the engine to rpm regularly then abrubtly misfires cylinders. What this does is gets air flowing through the turbo and then somewhat halts ignition then when it misfires it fires the extra fuel in the exhaust and boom you have spool. I can build over 30psi sitting in my garage if I want. The key is figuring out how to setup the boost controller or modulate the TB so you don't build too much for whatever tires you have.

There is also a better option that pulls a ton of timing when the two step is active so in essence you are firing the cylinder directly into the exhaust. I am going this route soon as it will eliminate me needing to heat the turbo up as much.

I set up a friends pro stock s-10 with a 106 mm turbo that runs on methanol and it went from running anywhere in the 9's to a solid high six to low seven second race car. He even competes in eigth mike races now. Anyone who has done any methanol tuning should understand what a feat it is to build enough heat to spool that big of turbo.

It definitely works.

I never have. However based on the cars I have ran against I think in
The 5 second range. I'm not sure though. I just raced a AMG Mecleren Mercedes last night that ran a 12.4 @115 and they are posted at low 5 sec 0-60 iirc. It was a very nice ride.

Obviously your doing something wrong!

So it would seem :-)

My trans brace is very crude. It goes from the passenger rear tow hook (aftermarket) and bolts the the lower center bolt of the transaxle. I think what was happening was that the cv was being crushed and if it didn't break it would put a significant side load against the pinion and one of the two would break.

stock transaxle mount. Yes like a panhard bar to a degree. Just to keep the lateral movement to a minimum (in my case to zero since there are no bushings).

Stock transaxle mount? Wow so that thing must move around a lot under a hard launch otherwise? Who knew? Well once again I "need" stuff that I never knew existed!

Post your slip.

same here. Ridiculous amount of sway.

The early style 944 mounts don't allow near the amount of movement. I actually filled the mounts on my 924S and it didn't move at all. Was solid with no unwanted vibes.

On the turbo I filled the stock mounts with window weld. It seems to swing a lot less now, but I bet a trans brace would be better with the filled mount.

Nice thread, I give a little input.

With Nitto 275 drag radials (these tires are least "drag" of the drag tires out there and do pretty well on the street)

1) skip the water box
2) Skip the burn out
3) On the second or third orange light I go full throttle
4) at ~ 3300rpm I dump the clutch (by now light should be green with a good reaction time)
5) Go Go Go until you cross the finish.

To me the hardest part is figuring out the sweet spot to not spin the tires, but not bog down. A tiny bit of tire spin typically prevents bogging.

Once this is established I find it very easy and repeatable.

On the topic of trans mounting. 95ONE came up with a great solution once we had figured out what was going on and breaking axles. I never used it though, I use a solid trans mount (Lindsey Racing) to the same effect.

TMS, I mentioned your findings earlier in this thread.. I didn't want to leave you out. Sid did too.
