Is that the earliest that they put those wide turbo-like fenders on base 911s? I know the widebody style (M491?) was available on later cars like 3.2s and 964s, but when did they first offer the widebody? Either way, really cool car. Wonder what the value of having that in your garage did to your house for those few days! Should have gotten an appraisal done with that baby sitting in the garage

Not sure - though the first year for the S/T was 1970. It seems there were a few variations, some had both front and rear fenders flared, others only had the rears.

I'll be honest, I kinda stopped researching 911s once I decided I wanted a 944...

Same here, though I mostly found the 944 Turbo after looking at a ton of not-so-good 3.2s and 964s.

Very beautiful and amazing car. And, the polished Fuchs! The earlier 911s still are some of my favorites. Although, the pre-galvanized bodies tend to worry me with rust (however, I just acquired two rusty 1970s BMW 2002s maybe I will have some mad latent and hidden sheet metal skills). I too put the 911 lust out of my mind once I purchased my 951.
