Fuchs for 86 turbo. How rare??
I have been trying to find a set of front fuchs for my 951. Since the wheels were discontinued after 86, They were only imported for one year and an option at that. if I have my facts straight. Plus they were a special offset, So a standard 944 wheel is out of the question..correct?? Saw a good set on ebay for 600(reserve not met). What should I expect to pay? are they like gold or do people want to get rid of them? thanks for any input.

Urchin,
Yes, you must be carefull about which set of Fuchs rims you purchase. A rim made for the 911 will not clear the large 951 brake calipers (they will however fit a 944na). To ensure that you are getting the porper Fuchs rims, they must have a 951 part number stamped on them (inside surface of the rim). I payed $1,000 for my set without tires.

I have Fuchs on my 86 951. They are white and I'm geting ready to take them off. The PO replaced one of the rear ones with a late model offset wheel and the offset is terrible. I love the lightweight but I am gonna buy a set of 17s for it. I'm going to sell the 4 wheels with a disclaimer about the one though. If you are interested I would sell them one at a time. I do want to get the numbers off of them though so I can verify exactly what I have.
Don't you hate POs? Mine was an idiot. But hey I bought the car for a steal!(4750 w/6oK miles)

I have the fuchs on my 86 turbo and they have a 944 part number stamped on them, and I am not running spacers. I have the original bill of sale and it shows that the fuchs were ordered as an option when the car was new.??

Thanks for all the info and help. I have polished C2's with spacers on the car now. pretty rims, but seem kinda bland on a red car. Feel the fuchs will contrast and stand out a lil more. I have pictures hereurchin's turbo page also have mod and repair related pics there. Will post my maf and dual port WG install soon.
Also have a set of 16" phonedials plus the set of 16" fake fuchs std offset, which I know will not fit. Even if I space them to clear the calipers they would stick out too far past the fender lip. I am open to trades. hint hint. as I will have a wheel and parts clearance once I get done with all the upgrades

urchin951, What wheels are you currently running on the car? What I did was put the 8" fuchs on the front and purchased a set of 9" for the rears.
This reminds me of when I first got my car. I wanted to buy another set of 8" wheels for the front so that I could use the same size tires all around and rotate them for the best wear. So I went to the dealer and asked for two 16x8" 951 Fuchs wheels. They said, "2000 dollars". I was shocked, "wait, I only want two wheels, not the entire set". "2000 dollars!" Well, so much for THAT idea.... Went out and bought a used set of 16x10.25" HRE-504 wheels from an ex-racer for $1000 instead.
I try, give me a couple of days.
Thanks Ken.

Call Ian. I was looking for extra wheels recently. I talked to him 4 weeks ago. He had fuchs fot the 86 @ $800. They weren't off the 944 turbo but an earlier 911SC. It had the same offsets.

Careful! I am pretty sure that the 951 fuchs have about 1/4" (7mm) greater caliper clearance than the 911 SC fuchs even though they have the same offset. I believe that 911SC fuchs will hit the caliper if used without any spacers on a 951.
