Felt the boost!!

Wow! Went for a drive in the new 951 with my wife this afternoon. It was the first time I could really push the car. On a clear stretch of highway, I suddenly accelerated from 100 km/h (60 m/h) to 160 km/h (100 m/h). What a rush! Should have seen the look on my wife's face. Pure ectasy. She said it suddenly felt like we had a rocket at the back of the car when the turbo boost came on. Even at that speed I could feel that the engine still had some reserve power. And the car actually felt more steady at that speed than at more 'legal' speeds. Well, my wife can't wait for us to go back for a drive.

Wow! It's still early to drive a 951 in Quebec. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> I come from Sherbrooke! Congrats for the 951, you won't regret it. I also own one, we could organize a meet this summer? Do you have any picture of the beast?
My girlfriend also said the same "rocket" comment about the 951. It really pulls hard.

Yan:
No good pictures yet. I got the car less than 2 weeks ago and it was a dirty ride back home. So the first pictures show a very dirty car. I've cleaned it since, but this weekend I'll try to do a thorough job and take some nice pictures.
There are a few other 951 owners in the province. Might be nice to organize a meet in the summer.

It accelerates better once you get over 100 MPH (160kph)!
Top speed over 160 MPH! (BTDT).

Careful now, you don't want to become a boost addict. OK, maybe you do....

yeah, my (ex?)gf used to say "it's like taking off in a jet"
quite addicting to gently shift into 2nd, get ppl all comfy, and then stomp on it thru 3rd to roughly 90ish

Oh yeah..... I love my shirt "Got Boost? It does an engine good." Then I take people for a ride and they find out why.....hehe
I usually call out speeds once we hit 60mph and up through the end of 3rd gear. They usually start spewing about how great it was once the speed comes back down and continue on for quite some time afterwards....
I'm actually still surprised sometimes by how fast I'm going accelerating on an on ramp and seeing traffic coming behind me when I merge and I'm pulling away from them like they are sitting still.....
Cheers!
