Wideband install question
So I'm trying to install my new WBO2. I have the factory manual, but wiring schematics make no sense to me... Where is a good place to hook up to 12V? I'm assuming somewhere under the driver side dash, along the ignition circuit...

Anything that has switched power , so when you turn the key off the WB02 shuts off. I think i connected mine to the radio circuit if i remember correctly. Did you put the 02 sensor in the stock location? I had to move mine further down the exhaust (after the turbo) due to the sensor over heating. Good luck.

My sensor is installed in my aftermarket exhaust. There was a sensor in before, after the turbo, before the cat, so I had a shop weld in the new bung today.
The funny thing is that I found a red wire under the steering column, but it doesn't seem to be 12V... The old sensor was wired to it, so I figured that must be 12V. I tested the gauge directly on the battery to make sure it's not defective and sure enough, it works. The connection I found is a box connector. It looks like:
l l
l l with the red one here
l l
I'm going to try the others here and hopefully I can put this thing together.
I've read it's not a good idea to put the wideband setup in loom with the radio system, as it can cause interference, or electrical 'noise' based on volume.

Well I found a connection. A green wire, under the steering column. It was combined with a yellow, and unused.
Another thing that I had realized, which added to the reason of why I didn't want to simply wire it to the radio, is that I didn't want the O2 sensor heating up every time I'm sitting in a parking lot with the car off, and just wanting to listen to music. Ideally, I wanted the sensor and gauge to turn on only when the ignition was on. I've accomplished that and am happy with the current results.
Now time to put 'er back tagether.
