I'm kicking myself for not taking pictures as I took my car apart 5 years ago... I'll be searching many threads for pictures like this in the coming weeks, thanks for posting!

I don't suppose anyone has pics of the AOS area with the turbo removed? I'm afraid I'm going to forget a heat shield or tiny bracket as I start putting things back together.

Tom, do you have any more pictures of your motor in various stages of disassembly or reassembly? That picture helps, but i also want to make sure I get harnesses, hoses, and other paraphernalia placed correctly to I don't have to undo anything after the turbo & exhaust is all bolted up.

So far, I've saved every one of the pictures on your Repair Projects page, and I expect those will help a lot. I'm not sure exactly what I'll need just yet, but I know that wiring/line routing along the firewall will be helpful (wider shots than you posted in the ground wire cleaning article), and anything in the area of the turbo with intake removed and turbo both removed or installed will be helpful.

I'm really wondering about harness and battery/alternator wiring going around the AOS and through the heat shields. I've got a couple pics from another thread that shows that stuff going through brackets near the balance shaft housing, but I'm a little unclear about which lines go on which sides of the AOS.

Also, I don't have a CV, does it make sense for me to omit the bracket that typically holds that in place? I'll be replacing/updating all hoses with new LR hoses, deleting the Venturi and octopus, so I hope that area will be quite a bit less crowded than it was when I took it apart.

Yes, ditch the cv bracket, but be sure to use shorter bolts for the coolant neck, as the originals are a tad too long without the bracket and will cause it to leak.

Tom, any luck with a few more pics? That pic of the heat shields helped, and I've found a few more pics ov various motor projects while searching the forum, but I would still like to see more if you have any that you don't mind sharing. Mostly looking for wiring/line routing under the intake manifold and along the firewall. Thanks!!
