If you gained 3 psi and only that small amount of HP, then you may just actually have a pressure loss.

Where do you/they suspect the leak to be?

There was an O ring missing on the compressor side of the turbo. Lee told me it had been freshly rebuilt and it must have been omitted in error. The guys at Alpine have remedied it and we hope to run it at Race City Monday night, weather permitting.

Yes they were. We'll see what it does with full boost available. The Milledge Turbo is huge and obviously moves some air!

The boys at Alpine shut down the dyno session as the leak became much more obvious at 13 PSi than it was at 10. FTR.

Either the boost was reading wrong, or the dyno is off. But it's just not realistic for that 8V 2.5L engine combo is making just shy of 400RWHP at 13psi.

I'm very familiar with the Millage stuff as well as all the other parts on that setup. If the car runs good, great. But I'd run it on a different dyno with a boost plot to see what it's really doing.

1.3 bar... not 13 psi. So ~19 psi this makes a little more sense.

Exactly.

Look at the boost graph. It's a lot more than 13psi.


393RWHP at 15% drive line loss would be approx 462Hp at the crank (CPower on the graph).

Lots of things can affect driveline losses so the 15% number is an approximation.

That is on an engine dyno as well.

BUT

Can a 2.5 8v motor put 350ft/lbs on the ground @ 13psi? I wouldn't be so quick to say it cannot.

Here is a 2.5 8v motor with stock cam and head, IC running on a Motec M4 w/CDI @ 1.3 bar pushing the Greddy bypass open on Autothority's SuperFlow 10 years ago or so.
