There is a parallel thread about this style of spoiler here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...-spoilers.html

Although I started it to discuss 968 / 968RS style aftermarket pieces it's taken a turn towards discussing the GT Racing / A.I.R. CGT or Lemans style.

I just finished installing the GT Racing spoiler. I think it only makes sense on a track car where you need the downforce in the rear.

I like the look I just wonder if the downforce the wing may add is not negated by the drag it creates....... I have been toying with the idea

At some speed it probably does but I'm hoping that speed is faster than my car can go. ;-)
For most of the tracks we drive I'd posit that the increased downforce will outweigh the increased drag. At a track like Daytona, though, that might not hold true.

When I started club racing a few years ago the front-runners had these. Their cars were highly-developed stock class cars so if they were using them they must have seen some benefit.

I've only driven the car once (on the street) since installing it. I could feel a noticable difference in the rear end (less rebound over bumps) above ~70 mph.

I dont think that Porsche would have put the larger GTS style rear spoiler on their cars if it didn't have some benefit. Just like the rear underbody spoiler on a 951.

If the AIR piece is a direct copy of the factory piece then it should have some proven benefit. If the GT Racing piece is not a direct copy, and it doesn't look identical to the factory one, then who tested it and how did it perform?

Are there any wings outside the 951 world that might work on our hatches or used in conjuction with the stock wing?

The standard 968 spoiler replicas are not very expensive or hard to find. Finding and affording a 968 RS spoiler replica is a bear. I've been looking for some time. Apart from the D9 piece there doesn't seem to be any options.

The sharply turned up lip reminds me a lot of the late 930 whaletails

Here's a pic showing the side profile of the GT Racing piece:

Contacted Tony, he has a mold and is making a piece for me. Since he's taking the mould to the shop he's willing to make additional pieces if anyone is interested. I put a thread in the for sale forums here:
