TRIED EVERYTHING. CAN'T SEEM TO GET AIR OUT OF COOLING SYSTEM. please help
I have tried bleading the system MANY, MANY times. When I drive the car everything seems to be ok till I get on the gas. Then, when I get off the heat blows could and the temp rises. It never gets past the top red line and after a few seconds it will drop back down. The heat will continue to alternate hot and cold. Could there be something elles wrong, or am I just missing something? Please help.

Time to replace your head gasket.

When you're "getting on the gas" you're developing peak BMEP (brake mean effective pressure) in the cylinders and it's leaking through your head gasket to the coolant jackets. The alternate hot/cold is probably coolant then combustion gases passing through the heater core. Guess how I know.

Hey Chris,
Russ could be right, that is a bitch with your engine being a new rebuild. I would do a leakdown check and see whats up.
Did you get a modified headgasket from John ?

This sounds like the same problem I have been fighting with for the past 2 years. Everything is fine for a while and then it starts pumping coolant out of the overflow after you have been using full throttle. Mine can be made to go away if I lower the boost untill I change the head gasket again. Right now I am down at 11psi, I will now be going for head gasket number 5.
Mine has been blowing headgaskets even with relatively low boost ie less than 15psi. Mine typically blows on #2 cylinder towards the intake manifold. I have tried the widefirering and Raceware studs but so far nothing has worked.
What boost have you been running? have you tried turning down boost to see if it stops pumping?
General consensus on mine is weak running at WOT, I am shopping around for the 52/55lb injectors right now so I can try something else.
It would be interested to know what you find, as it sounds very similar to my problems and I would love to solve it once and for all.

Chris/Danno,
At Least in my case the headgasket problems do not result in a change in compression. The compression numbers in my case are 145-147psi with a warm engine right now, even though the head gasket will no longer hold boost higher than 11psi.
Very strange? I am waiting with anticipation to see what Chris finds.

had same problem on my stealth...all compression ratios were good....try the ph paper test in the coolant for exhaust contamination...i swore up and down it wasnt a head gasket because compression was great across all cyclinders (i was doing the test cold thats why <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" /> ). a mechanic down the street clued me into the paper test and sure enough thats what is was.
