Post Aquamist

Is there anyone that have this type of product installed? What type of things do I need to have it installed?

I´m planning to buy the Guru Racing Stage II Map kit, can I use the Aquamist with the Map kit?

David Salema has it, and said good things about it. Check his thread on the 924/44/51/68 board.

Ok,

I searched the posts and found some interesting things about them. The IC pipes with water injection seems to be nice, I hope Danno makes a post when they are ready to sell them.

My plan is to run a front mounted IC like Speed force racings, so I hope there will be no difference to connect the aquamist to that one.

I read about the systems at the U.K website and they had different packages, some of them could be mapped. The question is, what happens if the water runs out? Or if it should malfunction?

That is a good point. But I personally wouldnt run 20PSI daily. I would tone it down to 16-18, and obviously still make sure I haev a good A/F ratio.
Also, the aquamist has a warning light to tell you if it malfunctions or what not

I am thrilled with my Aquamist 2s system. This system is programmable and 3d mapable to a MAP system. It has a built in safety system that turns on a yellow light in the dash if the system runs out of water or disonnects or whatever. It also will shut the water pump down so it doesnt run dry for long. (10 seconds, I believe) The system has an adjustable valve that will turn on water spray at a given psi of boost. I have set mine at about 8 psi. I piggy backed into two of the wires to also light up a green led on the dash when the system is spraying. It is really cool (no pun intended) to see the green light turn on next to the boost gauge when I hit 8 psi boost. The power has been awesome! I'll have to go back to the dyno one of these days.

David,
Was it difficult to install? Im not too experienced with these things... if I were to get one, think I could drive to your neck of the woods for a hand on the install??

David,

About 2s system, can this be used with the Guru Racing stage II Map kit? I read about the system and it looks great. That would be the second thing to install on my car after the MAP kit, if they can be used togehter of course.

What type of tank do you use and where did you locate it? I want to keep the tank for the wipers so I have to install another tank for this system. Can you post up pictures of the system installed in your car

Elon,

I would be happy to help you out. It took a couple of days work, but nothing to strenuous.

Johan,

I use my wiper tank for both the wipers and the aquamist !! Either way, you use wiper fluid. I have already posted pix. Do a search and you will see.

Ok,

The installation looked really good. Here in Sweden we use Bar measurement instead of PSI, one of the guys here who drives an EVO VI could after the installation run on boostlevel as high as 1.5 bar with no problems before he had the boostlevel set to 1.1 bar, of course you will need bigger injectors. I can just imagine how it would work on the 951

Ok so I can use the wipertank for both the Aquamist and the wiper that would be great.

How is the turbolag after the installation? Did the Aquamist had any effect on that?

In terms of the turbo lag, all I can say is that when you run higher boost, the turbo seems to come on faster. I am not ready to attempt 1.5 bar boost, since I already madly spin my tires at 18 to 20 psi. Soon, I will have my LSD installed, and can get some of this power to hook up.

How long has a tank lasted you so far? ie how many miles before you have to stop and refill the tank?
just a estimate is fine

Sam,

I read at the aquamist site that it would be refilled every time you fill up your car with gas.

There is 3 nozzles shipped with the kit 5mm,6mm and 7mm so It must depend wich nozzle you will use.

Sam

So far, I am using the largest jet (.9mm), and I have used one full tank of gas thus far. The washer reservoir is still pretty full. It is almost down to the narrow part just below the wide top part of the stock tank. It looks like with street driving, I will only have to fill with washer fluid every few tanks of gas. At $1.34 per gallon washer fluid, it sure beats the $4.50 per gallon race gas !!! Every driver's school I would use about 20 gallons of race gas for the weekend. That is about $90, and now I will probably use 4 gallons of washer fluid instead which costs $5. Estimated saving per school is $85, so the system will pay for itself after 7 drivers schools !!
