Second, they are on an '86 951 I've got sitting around and there are no spacers for these wheels, they fit pretty much perfectly, so therefore the wheels must be early offset. And third, the wheels are 17" tall, front tires are 215's, rears are 245's, so I'm going to guess 7" and 9" wide wheels. I have never seen wheels like these, much less as a supposed set of RUF wheels, anyone know anything about these rims?
Early Ruf rims. I think that there were 2 different manufacturers for them. One was Speedline. Not sure of the other.

If you're really interested in selling them then let me know. I had an offer on a set about a year ago that fell through.

Here's a picture of a 951 that I found in the past. Looks great on a 951. Maybe even better on a 911.

Is it pretty much impossible to restore the original finish on a wheel that has been chromed. You can have them powdercoated but that is the best case scenario.

Well, I should've just taken a pic of my whole car then! Anyway, I am going to look at my wheels more this weekend to see if I can confirm their authenticity.

i had a chance to buy a set just like these (also chromed by some idiot) a few years ago for $800 with tires but it fell thru. i love those wheels but they are heavy. i actually brought a bathroom scale and weighed them but it was a while ago and i've forgotten what they were, but they were quite a few pounds heavier than cup wheels.

i later bought some cup 1 wheels which were also chrome (how many idiots are there in this world?) a couple of notes on a wheel which has been chromed. apparently, chrome reacts with aluminum and corrodes so unless the wheel is stripped and coated properly first before chroming, the wheels are slowly corroding. on mine, i have constantly for the past 5 years or so, fought with sealing problems along the bead and the valve stem. finally put in metal screw-in stems and it fixed the stem issue, but the bead leakage is still present. i just rattle can spray painted mine black after sanding the chrome and the paint has stayed on for all this time which surprised me. and the world is less one set of ugly chrome wheels!

just a little chrome hating sentiment for everyone out there. just so proud that porsche has never offered OEM chrome wheels!

The 17 inch 8/9 where for the narrow body cars and the 17 inch 9/10 where for widebody (930) porsches
Mine are chrome too you can reverse the process of the chrome and have them painted

I happen to like chrome wheels much better than ugly black ones that are out there black wheels remind of steel wheels plus they usually belong to lazy people who don't like to clean them!

Plus the RUF wheels are ten pounds heavier than stock Fuchs so 10 times 4 are 40 pounds added too the car and on that note I love my ruffs

Is that a picture of my old 951? I purchased it out of Miami and brought it to Colorado.
