Default 944 GTR race footage!!

In case some of you might have missed this. Gives you a good look at these car's potential. That little car did very well against the might of the TransAm V8s of the day.
As David points out elsewhere, check out the turbo from the car. Guess you guys running Twin Scrolls are onto something.
How about the Black Camaro's compression ratio. 17:1.0!!!!!!

Yes and yet listen how quickly it revs Sid. Must be the lightness of the car. Wonder what sort of boost they were running back then?

Love it. Pretty cool to see the Camaro with "experimental" reverse-flow cooling that lead to the modern LT1 design.

Thank you for that Pat. Now... when I say 15:1 compression ratio for an LS* motor, you'll understand that its pretty conservative?

I have to say I was a bit blown away by the tech back then. Twin scroll turbos still feel kind of new around here and as for the reverse flow 17:1 motor...I had no idea they were running such high compression on a race car. Had to laugh when they put in the spare motor with a safer c/r of only 16.5:1 !!

Looks like Mrs Gregg could steer a bit too.

Actually I just watched the whole series Parts 1-9. Interesting stuff. 944's out with what they say was a broken camshaft but I wonder if it wasn't just a belt or part of the drive system?
