Post EBC w/ gear based boost?

Ok, I have been doing a little Electronic Boost Controlle research today, and it looks like the only one with gear based boost in the AVC-R. Driving around 15psi I run into the common 951 problem of getting no grip in first, and limited in 2nd, so I was just looking for something that could lower boost in the first two gears.

So anyway is the AVC-R my only option?

Thanks all

if you end up buying the AVC - R, let me know how you like it, im seriously considering one myself. running around at 14 psi i definately run into some traction probs in first and second.

I know a couple guys on the board have them, so they could shed a little more light on how they feel about them.

The next generation of boost controllers are comming out now, but none of them seen to have the gear based boost, but a lot do have data logging, and can tie in with other electronics. So I don't want it to be a choice between gear boost, and other capabilities.

If I do get it i will write a little review though.

AVC-R has gear based boost. It's the only way I can drive the car at 28psi .

I have my car set to 17psi in 1st gear, 22psi in 2nd gear with 285 width street tires and LSD.

I've been running an AVC-R since it first came out. As a matter a fact I may have been the first person to install one in a 951. It works great with the gear based boost, but be forwarned that it has absolutely awful instructions. Gear based boost is possible, and is the main reason I recommend it for high HP turbo applications.

I think the Blitz SD-ID has gear based boost, if used with the Blitz Powermeter. I had been looking at this and the AVC-R.

But now that I am going with the Link EFI from Danno, I think that will take care of my boost control

Rage2.... 28 psi!!!!!!! WOW!!! What HP do you make there??

Well, the electronic boost control function in the Link-1/2 is only RPM-based. It will send out the same RPM-based boost-curve for all the gears. But, it can also control the stock CV for simplicity.

I just dialed in a great boost-curve on our AVC-R this last weekend. I increase the boost by +1psi at 5000rpm and +2psi at 6000rpm to combat the tendency for the torque to drop after its peak (around 4500rpm). No more guessing about short-shifting or not, just redline all the gears!

I also have gear-based boost to limit wheel spin. So first gear goes 13-14-15psi (still need to feather throttle). Second gear goes 14-15-16psi and the rest are 15-16-17psi. Travis pulled a 4.85s 0-60mph run and 1/4-mile in 13.3s @ 112mph with my 195lb fat *** in the car (should've brought my video camera). This is with a stock K26/6 turbo and a stock wastegate too... (with our GURU spring upgrade)... heh, heh... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Is that with a G-Tech pro? Cause I've pulled some amazing numbers on GTech only to be disappointed at the track (My best was a 12.2@124mph, at the track 12.7@117).

WE SHOULD PUT OUR INDIVIDUAL AVCR SET UPS on this thread to help with tuning because the instructions are a mess of confusion. And I to would like to see how others set thiers up.I agree the avcr is worth every penny i can hold much higher boost levels in all gears.
