Exclamation 1987 951 FOR SALE - FIRE DAMAGED ENGINE

I have a 1987 white 951 for sale. The engine is fire-damaged. I do not want to have to part it out. I will send pictures to anyone interested.

Dan....

LOL...!

You got me...!

Now if I could unload this extra red one I have here in need of body work and repair to a bent valve, find a trusty friend to share the drive with me to get it and.....

I'm bored with red cars, always wanted a white one....

And fire damage is right up my alley, the pics suggest though, the fire was very extensive.

Funny thing too, the '87 with bent valve I bought to restore, is running on three cylinders, basically, so I close off the pressure feed to the wastegate while I'm driving it to my shop for repair, from my house.
Showed about 13-14 psi on the stock gauge, and flat outran the guy following me to pick me up, in his Mazda626 on three cylinders no less....!

Cheers

I always thought those engineers were being excessive with the quadrupely redundant combustion chamber. But then I guess I shouldn't push the point to far when talking with a man who has multiple project cars.

LOL, point well taken Matt, I'm in the trany biz, and I figure, I'm always fixing someone else's broken stuff, why not for myself...?

Seriously though, I know this sounds corny but, I LOVE Porsche's and when I run across one worthy of returning to good condition, I take em on, paint, body, fire, engine, it doesn't matter. So far I've resurected 4 944's, three of them are sold and gone, not counting my everyday '87S.
Dan was reffering to one I got a few months back, my second red project car in a row, but I'd put it on hold for a white one...
I don't quite understand someone who seeks for the best low mileage cream puff, 89 951, and then mods the crap out of it after paying such a high price, when you can pick up a salvage titled car for 3-5K, and modify as you fix the problems nd neglect and end up with a killer car for a fraction of what can be spent on a garage queen..!

Cheers

BTW, one I can't get due to distance, '88 951 theft recovery missing door panels and some interior, front bumper cover missing, white, 6X,000 miles for $4500.

Interested...?

KRino, this car Theft Recovery White/Tan

68,200 mi. is listed for $4950 now, but it's somewhere else on the net for $4500.
As a matter of fact before the pics were posted, I inquired and I got an email saying it would sell for above price, and informing me that the pics had been posted for viewing.
The physical price on the car itself say $4950, but I have not contacted them to dispute the other add or message to me, since I have my hands full at the moment..

Cheers

Man that price is high. I paid $5500 for my first 951 2 years ago which had 172k on it, and was in way better shape than that car. Terry just curious have any pics of your completed cars? I would be very interested in seeing those. Seems like so much work.

Dan, really, you think $4500, for the white car is high, 88 with only 68,000 miles.?
I've seen '88 non S 951's with this type milage go for 12-15000 bucks completed in excellent shape.

Here's a shot of my Imfamous SFR converted '87, w/Sports seats, and Cup wheels (polished), hand painted center caps, I purchased this car for $3000 (engine fire) and after much work (10mo.) and upgrades, including paint job, with all exterior items removed and replaced with new, SFR, MAF, Stage 1 turbo, intercooler pipes, ARC, ARM, many chromed parts and hour invested in polishing intake, wheels, misc. engine parts. Paragon Koni inserts w/ adjustable ride height upgrade, custom ARC/ARM monting panel, blah, blah, blah.......LOL
I've turned down $12,500 for this car, but I'll probably sell it later. There has been almost no issue that's been left unaddressed.... All parts replaced with factory daler Porsche parts, except the SFR stuff of course.....:^}

I'm about to start on two identical, PCA race 951's for competition in F class soon (one for me).. I'm going to document the whole ordeal..

Cheers mate......

This car is no longer on the market. I know this because I bought it.

The only things missing are the IC, radiator, intake, DME, front bumper cover, and the door panels. There are some other minor pieces missing as well but nothing big. It will also need a new nose piece because the morons who stole the car couldn't figure out how to get it off and so just bent it back. It's actually in fairley good condition. And the best part about the deal... A CLEAN TITLE!!!!!!!

Good shot, Redeye, were you able to negotiate any..?
Did the sell it at least for th $4500 originally posted..?
Looked at the time, like the airbox and some intercooler piping was missing....
It the time, several months ago, I didn't have the time to go get the car, or I would have got it myself.
I kept pestering the webmaster for their site, till he finally broke and sent the pictures to me in email, as they hadn't been posted on their site yet.
Personally, I can't believe it stayed there for that long, when did you get it..?

Post up a list of what you need, I'm pretty sure I have some of the parts you'll need....

Cheers

20th street auto stuck to their guns on the price ($4900). But thats not too bad considering that it only needs about $2000 in parts to bring it back to stock. I'll be posting pic's and a complete list of parts needed on monday when I can get some time to actually start working on it. Until then, if anyone has any of the parts I listed in my post above please respond if you are interested in selling them.
Dan
