Default Is anyone alive out there ?? What happened to this board ?

I posted this question over an hour ago
https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turb...oo-easy-2.html

Hey Guys
I have two WG dump tubes
The one on the left is my stock 88TS dump tube ( with a bracket on the flange )
The one on the right is an 86 pipe from a Escort car
Does anyone know where that flange on my stock WG dump pipe bolts on to ?
I know the WG bolts up to the bracket on the torque tube but I am unclear where the Flange bracket on my stock dump tube, bolts to?
Thanks in advance
Ed
Years ago there would have been a line of answers a block long.....

Hi Van
I should have thought of you and PM'ed you with this question
If you look at the picture ( on the left) the WG has a bracket that is at the top
that mounts to the torque tube( I got that part )
BUT this one has a bracket and hole on the Dump Tube Flange
Where does that mount? Does that go to the torque tube bracket as well
There is a hole with a nut welded to it on the bottom left ( drivers side ) of the bracket .....? Is that where it goes ?
Thanks bud
Regards
Ed

I am pretty sure its one or the other. The mounting style on the right may be earlier cars only. My '88 non-S came with the style on the left. Just slide the bracket on the torque tube forward or back depending on which type you plan on using.

It looks like the Escort car has a modified system to allow for quick and easy removal – You could get the wastegate out much faster with that set up. You can see where they shortened the pipe and moved the mounting flange down and rewelded it. The interesting thing is that it would change the wastegate input pipe – what does that look like?

The other folks already answered the where to mount it question.

And the answer to the last question -

Hey Ed. Been off line lately. Your pic you found is pretty good. If that was the question that was correct I messed around with mine last week. Had to replace the dounut on the waste gate. It's not to bad to reach with a long handled box end or a universal rachet.
