Well crap. Maybe it's a seized timing belt roller...

Good luck, keep us posted.

Try pulling the plugs before the timing belt hassle. No compression will make it easier in general. Vapor locked? I had a Buick 3.8 I rebuilt at 78k miles because it hydrolocked. It had to have the bottom end rebuilt because I used too much leverage and bent a rod (didn't know it was hydrolocked yet) because as we all know liquid won't compress. Anyway this isnt about buicks but I figured I'd throw a reason to try pulling the plugs before using more leverage.

OK, plugs out, starter out, still no turn, I put starter back in. I peeked behind the belt cover and they don't seamed overly tight like there is a lot of tension on them so I am thinking the stoppage is occurring on the crank somewhere. I went to check reference sensor. The front one is out and looks ok, I can not get the back one out. I tried to twist and no go. I don't want to put to much force on it. this may be the problem but that also might we wishful thinking. I'm going to search on stubborn reference sensor extraction.

Between spring yard stuff, kids sports, I can sneak in a few hours here and there to work on this.

Why are you pulling ref sensors? If the car was running before the no start/stuck crank, they dont usually fall down in the bores by themselves.

Was the fuel pump replaced because the car stopped running?

Since this is so weird I figured I would check everything including the unlikely but possible. The speed sensor I can barely twist but can not budge out at all. As far as the fuel pump, there was an intermittent sound like dry bearings on an electrical motor. I had 2 cases were I was driving and the cart momentarily stopped and then resumed with the squeaky bearing sound. The last time I drove it almost didn't start. So that all prompted the fuel pump replacement. Now it just suddenly stopped turning over so I am a bit stumped.

Because I didn't see you say it, I'll have to ask... Is it out of gear when you try to turn the motor?

Yea, it's out of gear and clutch down when trying to start. There is absolutely no back and forth on the crank bolt, it feels like I have the crank lock in place.

What made you change the fuel pump in the first place?

If the crank won’t rock in either direction then you can rule out valve contact. With the spark plugs removed you are down to a seized engine or something in the clutch/pressure plate that has jammed. Neither one has a good outcome…
