Default Weird ''toooooooth'' sound when accelerating

Hi all,

I got one of those sunday question (with John and my mechanic not working today) bugging me.

My mechanic installed a new Vitesse MAF kit, 83lbs (or maybe 85lbs) with 3bar fpr last fall. He also did some good work on the engine. I kept my K26-6 turbo for the moment (my budget was limited). Oh, yeah... got a 3'' new exhaust.

I got the car back too late last winter to really test it. It came out the garage, I drove carefully in the snowstorm back to his winter resting place.

Got it out last week, I had an idling problem, but that was an easy fixed just by adjusting the throttle screw.

I was on track for the first time yesterday, so I was really able to test my car for the first time. What a difference in power... wow.

QUESTION: on track yesterday, when the engine was hot (it was a cold day), on acceleration, in 2nd, 3rd, then after coming back home in 4th and 5th gear on highway, right before the turbo kicks in, and also during the turbo kicks in, I got that 1 to 3 seconds ''toooooooooth....'' sound coming out of the engine. Loud enough that my instructor tough at the beginning that somebody was ''honking'' at us? It really sound like a long car honking noise.

I drove the car for 15min. this morning to come to work, did maybe 1:30min highway... no noise but the car wasn't hot (47°F in Montreal this morning, 32° last night).

Does anybody knows what it could be? Does anybody ever had that experience.

It's really bothering me, the car is now suppose to be A1, and still I have some problems.

Thanks

Please don't laugh, but the sound sounds a bit like this : ) coming out the engine. I can ear it really loud in the cabin.

I would check all intake hoses, sounds like it could be a boost leak, bypass valve should be checked also

Thanks David. John just sent me an email and mention about the bypass valve.
I'm also gonna check all my intake hoses next weekend and tie-wrap them (maybe it could help?).

I talking about your boost hose connections that mount with clamps, if one of those are loose or not quite seated could leak under pressure.

I have the second one. I like it. I mean, it's not really a performance upgrade, but I'm damn sure it'll never break on me. it's a solid block of metal, with a solid block of metal in it as the valve. no diaphragms or anything to rip or fail.
