the 2.7 head is PN 944.104.040.02...

post a picture of the lower surface of the head...

just a cheap head on ebay...thought i might luck out and it end up being a 2.7l

Hi, this is from a 1986 944, casting 944-104-303-8R fits all 944 1983-1986 2.5 N/A,this would be an upgrade to an early 1983-1985/2 head, direct bolt on,new head nuts recommended when installing

thanks for the info....thought it was worth a look see...cheap 2.7l head because they didnt know what they had...guess not!

it is a LR stage 2 2.5l converted for the 3.0l.....if a good deal came up on a 2.7l head i would definitely think about picking it up and fitting it with the solid lifter cam.
