'89 turbo--Europroducts chips vs. Autothority
My '89 turbo is stock. I'd like to start some mods...probably chips & a boost controller. What are some experiences with the above chips & different boost controller combos for the turbo-s??? The Europroducts chips seem to be less expensive, but I haven't heard much about the quality??? Thanks!

Autothority or Steve R chips,,if anyone has his email address?
Those are the best two,,if you go to the dyno after purchasing, with Autothority Stage II, find out where you are rich and lean; take all that information(boost, FP, A/F ratios), Autothority will burn you a custom set for $100. You actually have to buy a new set of chips for $599, then when they get your old Stage II chips back, they credit your credit card $499.

The chips, along with the shims I installed, DID raise boost, but they did NOT raise the rev limiter at all, and they did not seem to be nearly as peppy as other chips I have installed. They did the job, but I really have to question how well they did it, considering the glaring oversight on the rev limiter.
I also removed my cat, at the time, as the only other engine perf. mod.

Steve R claims 300RWHP with his chips + 3 bar FPR at 16-17psi of boost.
I hope to be able to let you guys know on that within a few months.
I need to take a rest from spending cash on the car...but she needs a new O2 sensor now I think.
Farzaan's dyno day shows 260RWHP at 16psi with Steve R and autothority, only difference between Steve R makes more torque (I think 15 lb/ft more).

So with the Autothority chips, do you also use a Lindsey Boost Enhancer??? I head the Autothority chips come with a "banjo bolt" that replaces the LBE??? Is this right???

Brian S., the Autothority chips include a new banjo bolt, but if you are running an LBE, do not install the new banjo bolt. I run the Autothority MAF setup which includes their chips. Originally I ran it w/ an LBE but later switched to a dual-port wastegate and a manual boost controller. This gives me more boost control and the such. I currently run 19 psi and the car takes it in stride. I had the car dyno'd at 266 RWHP which is about 316 at the crank. It is in keeping w/ Autothority's HP claim. No regrets at all.

Just crious. How,with all the mods you have and running 19psi, are you only making 266rwhp?

One more thing.....If the Autothority chips come with the banjo bolt, and you don't use the bolt if you have an LBE; then if I DON'T have an LBE should I not buy one and use the banjo bolt that comes with the chips???
(hope that made sense)
Do they do EXACTLY the same thing, or is the LBE better, and why??? Thanks!
