The EFR turbo's are huuge. Definately not possible to mount without custom mounting, downpipe and crossover. Since the EFR have inbuilt wastegate the turbine housing is much, much longer. You would have to change everything.

Edit: Sorry forgot the EFR is available without internal WG, but it's still a very large physical turbo.
This is how it looks with wg:

Wow, they sure are long! Assuming the shape of the hot house is meant to be part of the improvements?

Yes for those with internal wastegate. But even the turbine housings without wastegate are large and the center section and compressor housing are large too.

Its said that the EFR7670 spools similar to the gtx3076 and makes power similar to the gtx3582.
Does anyone have any experience with this turbo or is it more internet/vendor hype?

It would probably take a vastly redesigned 3.0+ 951 engine to push a GTX3582R within its full efficiency area.

I agree Thom. I have a very modified 3L with all the supporting parts and still have doubts on the GTX3582. I have been waiting for my Tial hotside and my doubt keeps growing more and more. That said, a few people have used the GT3582 with the 3L and have been happy with the performance. I hope to get more info on the EFR as that sounds like its a good match.

Or a mildly modded 3.0 with lot's of boost hehe.

Seriously though, boost level is an extremely important part of the equation when selecting a turbo.

I feel a GTX3582R could be beneficial for my engine if I were to raise the boost to say 20 psi. Most 951 builds tend to run around 15-18 psi with a low rpm limit so a GT3582R might be too large for someone that prioritizes midrange instead of top end.

I would go with a gt37r pick the a/r for you liking on a 3.0 I think it is not too big.

Need to know a few things where is your redine?

What do you have done to the 8 v head ?

Agreed. From most things I've read on the limited use of the new GTX turbos basically everything moves to the right a bit but they respond to higher boost. Say 20psi minimum. As we see on other forums, 20psi is driving around the block looking for a parking spot. Many of these turbos are being pushed to 35psi + regularly.

I reckon one of the new GTX30s on a 3L would be very interesting with 25psi and E85!!!

There is no GT37R. GT37 is not available with ballbearings.

I always wonder how Alusil bores withstand lateral piston load when running more than 18psi... On a 3.0 engine cylinder pressure must be pretty high when running that much boost.

The weakest part of the chain always seem to come down to cylinder head sealing.
