Post guess what............. IM RICH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gas not money

I have a garret T04e 54 trim and am runing huntley chips. when I dont have a vacuum leak, it sort of feels like one between 3 and 4 k rpms. It's a slight bogging and full boost smacks REALY hard at 4.1k rpms (around)

I think there's just way too much fuel at that spot because if you hold partial throttle it's very smooth and builds nicely .

Can I run an oe DME chip and the Huntley KLR? I want to run more than 11psi (of course) and I really wouldn't mind having the rev limiter set back at 6300 but what also will I be doing?

can I send my oe DME chip somewhere to have a map burned on it for my turbo?

Luke - why are you not letting Autothority burn both for you?

Luke

I think the characteristics you describe can be fixed by custom chips, I was really more happy with my (similar) setup more, before I started increasing tension on the wastegate valve.
Boost would build similar to factory setup, but the end result when full boost was reached was impressive. With shimmed wastegate, and your Linsey WG, I think the MAF's are so much more precise and faster to process changes that the increase of air past them richens the mixture so quickly, that the boost hasn't even "hit" yet before the mixture is too rich...
Is this making sense..?
Anyways, I can lean the midrange with the ARC2 and help the problem tremendously, is your fuel controller capable in discriminating between low-mid-high ranges...?
If I leave the settings as they were before the WG shimming it sort of feels like a 2-stroke dirt bike type of power delivery.....
and I kinda like it.....

Cheers Luke

Oh yeah, BTW, when installing chips I always start with the KLR first, and run the car to verify that I haven't created any problems for diagnosing reasons, so i don't see why you can't run a chip just in the KLR, if you can manipulate the A/F mixture with your controller....

Be careful.....

Yes, what you have said makes great sense. And no this fuel controller cannot set a midrange so I will ahve to look into a custom burn.

Hey Luke,
Did you put the car on a dyno, and measure a/f ratios with a wideband O2 sensor? I don't know what sort of results you'd have with a stock chip...sounds like a shot in the dark to me. The chances of nailing your a/f ratios properly is pretty remote. If you have some dyno tuning time, you could try different configurations, but you'll probably end up with either custom chips, or a more adjustable fuel controller or piggyback box like the unichip. You could try lowering your fuel pressure a little, then raising the full throttle fuel settings on your controller a bit to compensate. Your midrange may lean out a bit, but it might not.

I'd probably go with a unichip setup if I were in your shoes. It's better than custom chips, because you can always tweak it later if you make different mods in the future. You just have to find a unichip dealer and dyno in your area.

Good luck!!

or scrap the mas flow and run the link map sensor and control fuel curve at every rpm!!!no need for custom chips or an arc2 which buy the way has very limmited adjustment capability.

In a couple of weeks, I'll have a complete MAP upgrade kit available. Includes a pre-programmed AFM-Link w/MAP sensor, FPR, K&N filter and intake-plumbing to put the filter behind the headlight. More free-flowing than a MAF-5 kit for less than $1000. Might even bundle it with intercooler pipes. Stay tuned...

Danno, will it be adjustable? I have plumbing and fpr, and a filter, would you sell the sensor setup piecemeal?

I am super interested in this Danno! I remember we've spoken before on my car. I have a borla exhaust, adj fuel reg, autothority chips ( too damn rich!!) and a boost enhancer. I dynoed it at 240 hp to the wheels and 293 lb ft of torque. I sent you my dyno graph. Would this MAP allow me the adjustability to turn down the richness in my midrange? How much of a HP increase would you expect me to get? I am running more boost, around 16psi or so in 3rd-5th gears. I really need help in finding the best way possible to tune my car. Thanks.
