Post 968 Hatch on 944 Turbo?

All, I've seen picturs of 951's with the 968 body colored spoiler. Is the factory 944 spolier cut a little and the 968 spoiler monted on top of the rubber? Or is this an entire 968 hatch to do this? Also, where would I get the parts and do you like this look over the stock look?

I'm painting the Turbo next week or so I while I'm updating it I might as well do this too.

It's a personal preference thing. I like the black rubber spoiler, but I know that lots of guys like the 968 spoiler. I believe the late (post '88) 944 turbos in Europe came with the "968" spoiler from the factory. Not positive though... I think everyone just goes and installs an entire hatchback from a 968. I'm sure it's a much easier job doing it this way. I remember seeing a red 944 turbo for sale on the Powerhaus website, I think it had a 968 spoiler on it, and it looked pretty nice. Good luck.

The 1991 944S2 and 951 came with the "968" wing.

I changed my rubber spoiler to the 968 wing. I would say it would definately be better to just swap them out if possible, but I came across the 4 pieces off a 968 (2 side, 1 top spoiler, and the bottom piece with brakelight.) Bought that for 550.00. Then I had to buy numerous rubber pieces and the brakelight (230.00) had it painted gloss black (100.00) then mounted for about 140.00(they quoted me this before they installed it and stuck with it they said it wasnt all that fun to swap them out. I think I ended up spending over 1100.00 for the total swap, but I think it was well worth it, I love the updated look with the integrated 3rd brakelight. Next when I get the car fixed and repainted I will get the top spoiler painted to match along with an AIR front splitter.

hope the following pic works..if not try the link

Do you know how much one of those could be bought for? Even a nice used one maybe? I'm just looking for a ballpark estimate...

My Turbo S rear glass is getting worn out around the edges, and I know that it will eventually wear out completely, and I'll need a new hatch. If I can get a nice 968 one for a reasonable price, and it will hook right up, then I might try for one of them. I would like to keep the stock 951 third brake light though, since it's high up). Actually, I would like to have both of them- the 951 one, and the 968 one as well- assuming that it wouldn't look silly. I think it would be kind of cool to have both, but there's really no way to know w/out actually seeing it on the car. Any input there?
