Post MAF Question/Observation

Why is there such a huge price difference between MAF kits? A friend of mine has a Merkur XR4ti with a Modern Performance MAF kit (along with some other mods). He paid in the neighborhood of $500 for his kit. Why are kits for 951s in the $1100 to $2000 range? I think MP makes a kit for the 951 but I am not sure of the price, quality or performance. Judging from the performance of the Merkur, I would say it can't be too bad. I know you get what you pay for sometimes, but something doesn't compute. I guess if you wanted to be resourceful you could put your own kit together and save a few bucks.

I didn't see it on their website. Where did you find it? Do you have the link?

Talking

Call them up and talk to Nick.. They make replacements for all "bosch" type air flow meters. It is good stuff i am told.

$575 includes the sensor, filter, bolts.

Everything you need to connect it to your J-hose. I am hoping to replace the J and have it sit in the fender well though.

It has WoT and idle adjustments on it.(same as lindsey's as far as i can tell)

It is not true to say that with only 2 adjustments "the fuel curve will be linear"

YOur chips take care of the rest.

sounds like it will do just fine for me.

I am hoping to be able to put around 310 to the ground with this unit and a turbo upgrade.

That's fine. Probably a good idea. I'm not really concerned with the stock/maf hp gain as much as the driveability of the maf.

Any hp gain would be pretty much from cranking up the boost. There is a huge argument over this stuff
-I beleive you will gain about 15 hp @ the same boost level though. FRom what i have seen.
I plan on buy a really conker of a turbo though so i can make the numbers i want to at low boost pressure.
