Which year 951 had same turbo as 959?
IIRC, the 959 and the 951 shared the same KKK turbine, although the 959 had two units <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
Was that the 1986, meaning that S and later 951 cars have a larger turbo unit than the 959?

If I remember correctly, the 959 had internal wastegates which means that it did not use the same turbine housing as the 951. However, it might of had the same A/R as the 951.

Well the 993 TT and 996 TT both use internal wastegates on thier turbos, and given that those motors are based on the 959 motor it would be logical that it too ran internal wastgates.

The 959 is sequentially turbocharged, so it has two different sized turbos. The engine is quite a bit different from a 993tt engine. The 996tt engine is more similar in that it uses water cooling and has 4 valves per cylinder. The 959 uses two external wastegates. If they have a common turbocharger, I imagine it would be a K26/6 for the smaller of the two turbos on the 959.
The 959 uses part numbers 959 123 017 01 and 959 123 018 01 for the turbocharger. The 951 uses part numbers 951 123 131 02 and 951 123 131 03 for the turbo and turbo S respectively.
If you go to the ROW part of PET, you can view the parts diagrams. Incidentally, a complete replacement engine has a retail of price of 126,973 Euros.

959 motor was based upon 956/962 motors. 993/996 motors are still 911 based.
I read the 959 used a K27-based turbo with a modified compressor wheel & housing on the inlet side (56 mm vs 52mm).
One of the 911 techs on the other board may know for sure.

there was ONLY ONE 959 that use as first Turbo teh turbo from the 951.
It was a special car build by Porsche Motorsport and made 520 HP. this car hit 339 km/h at Nardo south Italy but lost to the RUF CTR which hit 342,8 km/h
Otherwise all other 959 use a smaller Turbo as a first turbo. I am not sure about the second Turbo but I think it was not the same as in the 951.
