Question for Canadian 951 users
My 951 is American Specs. Is there a way to convert the foglight assembly such that they become "always-on" daytime driving lights ? These would automatically light up upon ignition start. I don't want the pop-up headlights to come on all the time. Are there any issues with wiring, voltage, special kits, etc.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Gotta ask... why?
Every 951 predates the requirement for DRL's, so it certainly isn't 'required'.
If you still wish to do it, I'd suggest just simply rewiring the fog light switch, use a ignition-switch-controlled 12-v wire from the radio area, connect it to the output of the foglight switch.
You'll also need to defeat the parking-light detect (you need the parking lights on to turn on the fogs...), which I believe can be done at the fog light relay.
Hopefully someone with more intimate knowledge of the exact wiring will chime-in...
Good Luck.

yeah.. just turn your headlight **** to the first position, (before the headlights pop-up) and switch on the fog light switch.
I like it better that way... gives you the option to shut down or turn on whatever you want.

Yeh same here - parking and fog lights on. I have the Euro's so they're pretty bright and act as headlights for me until dusk. It's better this way too because your rear running lights are on, making you more visible from behind - and in Victoria, there more visible you are, the less likely the old lady peering through the top of the steering wheel of her 8000 lb. cadillac is to hit you

So one can definitely turn on the foglights while the switch is turned to the parking lights position?
Thanks for the replies.
Next question:
It seems my brake lights aren't very bright. Any ideas on testing/improving/correcting the situation?
