If I remember you are running the 968 transaxle with a solid flywheel (no dual mass) and an unsprung hub clutch (911 style) – that could make for some ‘extra’ noise from the transaxle.

Hi Chris,

Welcome back from your trip. Is that you in the red/white bikini? Dave did set the fuel cut at 25psi. We may lower this after this situation. Pulled the trans, and we'll know what is wearing, fix it properly, and add a few gears. May just be sixth, but we may add a longer 5th, "while we are in there".

Thanks for sharing your pictures. I'm a fisherman/diver. Keep a shared boat in San Carlos. Catch a few, dive off the islands, and have great times on the water. I was a navigator in the Coast Guard. I love being on/in the ocean.
