I've been seaching the archives trying to get an idea what's going on here.
I have developed a mechanical "tinging" sound as the clutch is engaged and disengaged. Also the same or very similar sound as you shut the car off OR rev it up and then let off. I hear the sound low and at the back of the engine.
NOTE: When starting the car with the clutch in I was getting none of the noise.
Since the noise was only in neutral with the clutch out (engaged) I am thinking torque tube bearing(s)???
Forgive my ignorance on torque tubes but from what i can tell it kinda works like a long input shaft? Even in neutral it does spin right? I should say as long as the engine is running and the clutch is not disengaged.
The clutch is holding strong and I am having no issues with shifting or the transmission.
Just an annoying sound that I at first thought was the throw out bearing.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!!
