I have always LOVED the idea of an AWD road course track car. Next year, Hopefully around this time, I will be starting on an all wheel drive LS tube frame platform using NSX fiberglass panels to resemble JGTC panels. once again.. All tube frame, So why not use a damn sexy car..? it will be a built sequential Subaru trans and parts. 6.2 liter 15:1 compession LS6. 550-600whp. Already started buying parts for it. It will take me another 2 years to build. But I will have this car to drive until its finished. At which point my car may be up for sale. - keep in mind that would be around 3 years from now. maybe not.. I'll know when the time comes. IF i don't smash it to bits first

Probably not. 959 was well into development before the 944 Turbo was offered.
959 was introduced at Frankfurt Motor Show 1983. First 951 prototypes were built at the same time, 1982. 1983 951 proto can be seen in Sinsheim museum in Germany. 959's were available in 1986 first 951's were sold in June/July 1985.

No, this shouldn't be anyone's project...at least if it going to look as **** as the car in that picture. Woof, what an ugly Porsche!
PEP was not made for the looks. The platform made different engine/trans configurations very easy. That was PEP's main purpose.

So was the idea just to eliminate all other variables and make a direct comparison of how the car drives with the engine in the front, middle, and rear?

This is actually a common compression piston that is off the shelf for dirt track running alcohol. Just in their small circles.. pun intended $750 for all 8!!!! Our pistons should be half that.. but of course.. its not.. but ya know.. small runs of stuff and things..

its also a common compression for the NA limited drag classes. Lots of stuff going on out there.. just go where you wouldn't normally, and you will learn lots! even from those Hill Billies out in Tennesee! ROFL. light sarcasm with an elbow poke. Half of my family could be described as such. Motorcycle engines is where I like to keep up with the latest tech.

I'm pretty sure you could rip a hole through space-time itself with a car like you describe. Sounds fun

LoL. yeah, the plan is to catch up to myself and then pass me on the following lap.

Its just the next level that I feel That I am ready for. Whether it actually happens or not... Time will tell. It's just a hobby.. not a profession.
