Question 951 Fog Lights converted to 98 Chevy P/U

I saw a photo (see below) on another forum but the person who posted it has not responded to question about the install....Does anyone know anything about this conversion? Apparently 1998 Chevy pick-up headlights fit as a replacement for 951/S2 foglights. I took a quick look on eBay and the complete lights and assemblies are less than $30.00 a piece shipped!!!!!!!!!!

It looks weird...I guess I'm used to the trim pieces being there, and the light not completely filling the area.

^ true, those lights fill those sockets completely... I wonder how well the light up the road compared to say the euro fogs? But at the cost of these lights if the install is simple then I'm gonna do it, my fogs currently both need replacing (ones cracked, both fogs adjusters don't work, broken mounts)

This is MOST interesting...I'm missing the little covers on the ends of my fogs and at $30+ shipped EACH I think I'd rather mod the lamps instead.

What I'm wondering is how they are adjusted.

The thread is on Pelican and it mentions mounting them upside down ?

Here is the link to where I got that photo plus a side view of them mounted...I did a little more searching and I think they are from a 98 Silverado.

Here is the link to the 944online thread with photos and some details about what is involved...unfortunately according to the write-up it is not a simple plug and play conversion.

they look fine, probably work better and don't cost $100+ each, and are likely available at any corner autozone...sounds good to me.

i would like to see more pictures of how they fit compared to the bumper cover though.

Ahhh, but there in lies the details... light dispersal .... lamp power... over all fit and trim.. I am all for easy, succesful upgrades.. cheaper doesn't hurt either..

I could go on a rant here.. but I won't..

To each his own.. YMMV... olie olie oxen free and all that!

Flame on!
