I've done a few 1000+ km day trips in my 951. It passes traffic effortlessly, and is perfectly comfortable and really a joy on long trips. But, its not a GT car, it can fill the role of a GT car, but it is far too enjoyable to use for track work to be considered a real GT car.

You are driving the wrong car then... my 951 is fully sounds deadened.. and found it to be too flexible on spirited driving, so I took care of that.. and still have some more flex to dial out... I drive it on the street..

Not really, I find the sport seats in my 951 hug me, and the 944 seats are just about right... maybe too soft for a true sprts car, but deffinitely confortable for the long haul.. longest distance I have driven her straight through was Richmond, VA to just north of Detroit, MI... about 730 miles, was a breeze...

The farthest I have ever driven the car is from KC to STL. What sucks is that I don't have cruise. Hopefully will be getting that fixed soon. If I had that I bet it would have been nice. that and a radar detector.

On a serious note, i have done a few long trips though admittedly never with the stock seats. My lower back used to kill me with the set of Momo recliners i had when going to and from the track (usually 2-4 hours depending where i am going). Last year i put in a set of Recaro SRD's and no longer have much issue. NY to Hershey, PA (4.5hrs) and NY to Nelson Ledges, OH (8hrs if i remember right) with not too much complaint.

Early cars were 17.5. I know I have squeezed in just over 21 a time or two on the 951, lol. Must have been down to fumes.

I did Malibu to Las Cruces. The next day I did Las Cruces to Beaumont, Tx. The next I did Beaumont to Villano Beach, Fl.
The drive was smooth as silk, as far as the car goes, though I still think the entire state of La should be a nuclear test site!

The 951 is a true sports car, but it does well as a GT, Long trips have never been a problem for me. Large gas tank and great gas mileage always means my bladder gives out before having to refuel.
Don't the rear seats technically make it a GT car?

My butt fits fine, but the seat narrows as it goes up, leaving me some air gap just below the shoulders. I think I could use the dead air between my spine and the seat as cup holder. I'd love sport seats, but I think that would give me room for a dozen eggs..... 6'4, 260.

I had the Escort Cup Suspension set up in the car I just sold with racing seats. Every bump, every pebble, every pot hole was explored in detail.
