OK I wish I did not suggest 305HP was doable with this turbo as it seems like a contentious issue. Lindsey has a kit that claims 305 at the wheels, through the AFM , but they sell it as a 300HP kit:

Like I said before, 280rwhp is more realistic.

Joel, dont sweat it. You have a K26/8 for sale. Someone will want the turbo, some will want to debate creationism. I'd list it as able to make between 110-305 at the rear wheels, depending on the ineptitude of the installer and the mods that are already on the recipient car.

That is EXACTLY what I was trying to say. And with a decent chip (which are starting to go pretty cheap), an easy 30-40 horsepower. That kind of increase at $500 (including chips) is an easier sale to me than 100 horsepower at $2100 (including linked Lindsey kit linked above). If you look at that Lindsey link as a benchmark, two things jump out at you - first, you have to spend FOUR times as much on supporting hardware as the turbo itself to make the claimed gains. Second, Lindsey claims only a 5% difference between the 26/6 and the 26/8. That means only 15 hosepower. That good deal on the turbo doesn't look so good, now. I honestly don't believe it based on the SP3 cars I'm familiar with (where the S2 making 220 at the wheels walks away from the turbos with the Lindsey hardware).

Basically, it is like this - just sell the turbo as-is, don't oversell it, and you are looking at aboutu $10/horsepower. Try to oversell it, and you are looking at not only $20/horsepower, but now folks are going to start asking what all they could get for their $2100, like a MAF setup.

Again, good deal on a good turbo for a pretty darn nice gain. Frankly, I'm surprised no one has snatched it up, yet.

Thanks. I am not worried about selling it, during the holidays people are not generally buying car parts. I'm in no particular hurry to sell it, I figured if I could hand it off while I was in TX that would have saved me (and the TSA) some trouble but now that it's back in CO there is no time pressure.

BTW this is not the turbo off my 951S engine, which is also for sale. That motor has another K26/8 on it.

The key is to find a dyno with a little downhill slope – my car always feels faster when its pointed down hill….!

$400 is a decent price for a good K26/8….somebody will want it sooner or later.

I think also the fan they put at the front of the car holds you back. Maybe if you had a downhill sloped dyno with the fan pushing you FORWARD instead of backward, it'd be greater....

I keep looking for a shop that has two dynos lined up nose to tail so that I can draft somebody for a little extra power……

I thought the key was to find the dyno with the most stickers (preferably with big Japanese letters)?
