ls2 or overhaul original engine
I'm having some issues with my 951. Car drives just fine but engine has 298000km on it and it shows. Some blue smoke when playing and it just doesn't sound fresh anymore.
Furthermore i'm missing power. Was thinking of upgrading the turbo, injectors ea when the engine will be renewed but saw a few ls2 conversions and that sound a ok also.
For the price for the swap i can never get 400hp with the original engine specialy not if it has to be reliable.
Any advice? Is it a bad choice if i was to go for the ls2 or will it still drive like it was supposed to drive?

There are plenty of threads here where people have swapped for a LS motor. Do a search for LS1. I haven't read where any of them had a negative view on the handling. There is a negligible difference in the weight of the turbo and LS motor so handling should not be affected. How difficult would it be to source parts over there?

Its hard to justify the cost of a complete rebuild of the stock engine. I'm glad I'm not faced with that decision at this time, but I hope to keep the 2.5 in it forever. I admire the guys doing the LS swaps, but it isn't my style.
"Will it still drive like its supposed to drive?" No. It's supposed to drive like a 25 year old car with a 2.5 turbo engine that was built to make way more HP than it should, and last 300K km or more.

I really enjoy my v8 swapped car, but keep in mind that it's a conversion and not just an engine swap. You'll have to address the brakes (the v8 has no room for a booster, the current best route is a hydroboost setup), and steering (a Turn1 pump is a good choice). The extra torque may stress your transaxle and axles too. You may find that anything less than a 285 tire is too small. A limited slip differential is a good idea too.
Anyways, not trying to discourage you, just make sure you have a good idea what you're getting in to!
