A 951 will never sound like those rolld back, wind up, and go hotwheels(Honda) we used to play with as kids... They sound more like srt-4s with huge exhausts, crackling while slowing down and backfiring hard between fast shifts....

Meh, I hear american v8's with all sorts of different exhaust configurations every day...

The sound of a nicely tuned turbo 4 banger is much more interesting

Your turbo spool does sound very cool I wonder what causes some to be more pronounced than others ? I have used 4 or 5 turbo's over the years and all have been mild on the spool sound.

For some reason GTs have that really cool "jet spooling up on the runway" sound more pronounced than other turbos.

For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3gMvi3Gnww

It is probably the anit-surge / map-width-enhancement porting on the compressor housing... Holsets have a really loud spool too.

The previous owner of my car did this video; 4" Lindsey Racing exhaust with Magnaflow muffler and Flowmaster pre-muffler. There is very little or no difference with the cat installed instead of the pre-muffler.

I have some videos on youtube of my SFR 3" test pipe/cat-delete/cat back with a Borla XR-1. I'll throw them up later.
