I bet there are still some Europeans that will cringe when they hear the sound of that motor approaching.

Completely ridiculous - if you are going to to use an aviation engine, let's step into the inline era.
1500 HP Supercharged P51 Merlin, maybe.
Then at least you can cool it.

^^^ Well it may not be the fastest, but it's probably pretty good on gas.

I laughed out loud. Really loud.

Probably NOT funny to them, though...

Funny you mention it, because I was in fact wondering about cooling.

Not sure what chassis would accept an engine of that size, though. You might have to use a pickup and mount it in the bed. Come to think of it, that would offer shocking towing capacity...

I think we had hobbies.

Like...building things, or something.

Maybe cars with improbable engines, come to think of it.

We spent 4 hours troubleshooting and 1 hour repairing our 944's.

Now we spend 15 minutes researching our problem, 45 minutes repairing (since we've already spoken to ten people who have done it, and know the best way), and the remaining 4 hours screwing around online

Thats pretty damn cool but I always wondered about those radial engines and how the oiling works. Does the oil just sit in the bottom cylinders?

Yeah, supercharged V12 Merlins are so much more practical. I hear they are going to be standard equipment in the next gen prius
